Description

  • Course Content

Prime’s Year 11 English Advanced tutoring course Term 2 course will cover:

    • Module A: Narratives that Shape Our World

The NESA module, Narratives that Shape Our World, requires students to learn about historical attitudes and contextual values as part of storytelling conventions. This also includes contemporary modes of storytelling through new media and text-types, such as podcasts and vlogs.

By learning the historical eras from the Age of Enlightenment, to the Romantic and Victorian eras, to, finally, the Modern and Postmodern eras, students will acquire a more sophisticated understanding of how literature has been, and continues to be influenced by the cultural and contextual values of its time. This is required learning for your HSC studies next year, especially module A: Textual Conversations.

  • Workshop Content

In workshops, students practice their skills, with tutors on hand to help them if they require it. Students can work on the essay tasks provided by Prime or study paragraphs on their school-prescribed texts. Students can also work on their homework from school. Individual feedback and marking is a key feature of the workshops.
