Description

  • Course Content

In this Year 12 English advanced lessons only course, students will learn:

    • Module B – Critical Study of Literature

The NESA module, Critical Study, requires students to study a substantial literary text, understanding its textual integrity and universal appeal. Through close analysis of the text, and by reading other critics and academics, students will develop their own personal reading about the meaning of the text, and their interpretation of any moments of ambiguity.

Students focus in detail on their prescribed text’s genre and structure, and the text-type conventions that are unique to their prescribed text’s form. At Prime, we will also consider framing the text through Freudian, Feminist, Postcolonial and Marxist political frames to see how well the text holds up to different kinds of examination.
